Food Bank for Monterey County
Salinas, CA
The Food Bank of Monterey County is a 65,000 SF facility constructed using a premanufactured metal building system. Included is a 25,000 SF dry storage room, 15,000 SF cold room, and freezer, as well as 15,000 SF of office space, a breakroom, a wholesale room, a demonstration kitchen, restrooms and loading docks.
SSB Construction crews devised unconventional and creative methods of construction to stay on schedule through inclement weather. The project was completed on schedule and within budget.
The SSB team also worked collaboratively with Belli Architectural Group in the preconstruction phase to Value Engineer exterior architectural elements within the Food Bank’s budget.
SSB and the Goldman family have been longtime supporters of the Food Bank, so it was especially rewarding to help this non-profit organization meet the growing needs of the local community.
